I'd like to know if anyone knows if Grace was classified as a Soprano or Alto singer. I'm Soprano II-Alto, and Grace goes lower than I can on songs like "Triad", so I'm thinking Alto, but does anyone know?

Just wondering...

When she was shrieking, she might be considered a mezzo-soprano. But when she was on pitch in her range, she was a contralto. (As is Signe.)

That’s one thing I always thought was so cool about the Airplane. The female had the low voice and the male (Marty) had the high voice (tenor). And they kinda met in the middle. Sounded great.

No, SforS is not referring to that, I believe.

Grace, a long time ago, did have surgery for throat nodules ... not an uncommon thing for singers, I imagine. Probably more common for singers who smoke, I guess.

"A LOT" of surgeries? Not that I'm aware of.

Somewhere I read that one doctor suggested that if she was going to smoke, to give up menthol cigarettes. She said she did and hasn't had a problem with her voice since.

Cheers,
