Raspberries - Go All The Way
Glorious popsong. America's answer to Glamrock. Almost as good as England's best: "Slade".

Jefferson Airplane . Live Copenhagen Denmark 08.28.68
Must have been a very good performance.
The quality of the recording isn't very good though: The drums for instance are almost inaudible.
But for once Jack and Marty are mixed in upfront.
Star of the show is Jack Casady, his solo in "Ballad" is awe-inspiring.
A ten minute version of 'Star Track", "Greasy Heart", "House At Pooneil Corners", "Triad"(!)..
Google and enjoy.

Squeeze - "East Side Story"
Only the gods and Johnny Rotten know why they weren't a big success.

When I took my Italian GF back to OZ some years ago, she told me about a certain magic that abounds in my homeland...it's true. The moment you step off the plane at Mascot International Airport (Sydney), you feel that sort of 'psychedelic' touch come all over you. It must be because Australia is one of the most primitive lands on Earth (our noble natives, the Aboriginals of Australia are the most primitive tribes ever!!:)) and that primordial thing just is inside every single aspect of Aussie life including music....that's why we dig psychedelic music a lot:):)
Now listening to the Tol-Puddle Martyrs, one of Australia's most 'obscure' pearls of psychedelic yesteryear....Psych Out U.S.A. is a dedication to U.S. psychedelia:):)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnto_8Pp_DM

Queen and Adam Lambert.
Queen was never one of my favorite bands, never bought an album, even though I liked some of their singles, mostly the non-Freddie-written ones. But following Muse to Las Vegas, to the iHeartRadio Concert of September this year, I watched Queen performing a short show with Adam Lambert. Queen parted with Paul Rodgers of Free-fame a few years back. I always thought it an incongruous combination, even though I consider Rodgers one of he best vocalists of English rock.
But Lambert fits. Not trying to sound like Mercury, he has an amazing voice (though he uses it a little bit too much in that Swiss yodeling style that Beyonce loves too) that seems to revitalise the band. It is obvious that Taylor and May really enjoy playing with him.
And Adam Lambert brings back that camp element that always was essential to Queen.
And so I also watched the concerts in London and Russia last year.
Lambert sings "Who Wants To Live Forever" chillingly. It is long ago that a singer brought me to tears.
And Lambert singing that song did.
Maybe I should buy some Queen albums.

Talking about replacements: I watched a documentary about the Stones considering a new guitarist after Mick Taylor left.
Guess who was named as a possible replacement: Jorma Kaukonen!
As one of the critics interviewed said:" That would have been very exciting, but highly improbable."
I can only agree.
But they chose Ron Wood and went into a deep decline.

Hot Tuna - Somebody To Love -11/23/13 - Beacon Theater.
Jump, Jack, jump!
Jorma seems to have reconciled himself to his past.
First "White Rabbit", now "Somebody To Love".

Captain by the Toy Hearts.
I love that Sophia Johnson.

I would be listening to The Faith Healer by the Sensational Alex Harvey Band but the sound is set to zero.
