I had an inkling you might be here, RR. I dreamt last night of the Jefferson Something Or Other; they sounded like rubbish, but Her Highness was there in disguise with the Good Stuff.

The only song of that batch I like to hear is "Here Comes The Sun". The other decent tracks I've heard far too often.

So. "Hey Bulldog" by the Beatles, thankfully never played on radio. I love this one. It's rock but it's got swing.

"Here Comes The Sun"and "I want You".I remember I was 6 or 7 and hopping merrily in front of the radio while listening to "Here Comes The Sun".

Considering what you have said in the last few years you just have to be my soulmate ,Sue

Gee, that what I think of "Abbey Road" results in posts of two of my favorite persons on this site (there are/were others, but they seem to have moved on, so don't get a big head O.).
Yes Sue, I am always/quite often here. It is what I do when I get stuck while painting, how to paint memories/dreams (I made the last few months for an upcoming exposition 3 large paintings, two of which are among the best things I've ever done, combining sex and religion with memories of my childhood).
Shaving, Okeedoe? Never below the waist. Or above, I am of the generation that doesn't think of hair as an hygienic danger. We still let our freak flag fly. Well, I am not really honest, recently I have a "Ceasar" haircut, though my younger friends call it a "Justin Bieber" haircut. They are cultural barbarians, don't you think?
Wanna know what I think of "Dark Side Of The Moon"?

"combining sex and religion with memories of my childhood"

Perhaps you were sexualy abused as a child by a priest. So, over time the humiliated and confused boy developed disgust and animosity to the hipocrisy of the church .

It is not that I don't like you too.In my own way.

OK. Take the paint brush out from your outre ass and loose your diabolical abstract thinking , fiery imagination intelligence and last but not least your encyclopedic knowledge to tell us obout the black sleeved LP with the spectrum(minus indigo ) of light diffracting through the prism.

Sorry Okeedoe, I pressed the wrong button and the post you answered disappeared. I'll try to reconstruct it.

"Don't worry. Okeedoe! I finished school untouched, though I went to catholic schools for boys. So much for the horror stories about the clergy (my Eastern prince by the way can tell you hilarious/horrifying stories about imams). The fathers made a big impression on my life though. They provided an excellent education. Their science classes were very up to date, without any trace of religious thinking. I was an eager student, I like to know things. But science and religion don't go together very well, do they? So I fell from grace. It is the fathers, they hated me, they put me on the road to hell, they made me into an atheist."

As for"Dark Side": I hate it. They'll play it over and over again in hell to torture me.

"Have You Seen The Saucers?" Jefferson Airplane (Live).
The appropriate song to celebrate the news that Voyager 1 is dancing at the border of our solar system.
" V1" hasn't seen any. But maybe, in the future, aliens will see one as "V1" enters the starsystem of their planet.
It would be nice if they would send Paul Kantner a message.

After having played the Small Faces for weeks, it is now the Beatles I'm rediscovering.
"Revolver" is for me still their best album, "Rubber Soul" a not so close second.
A few minor surprises, "Abbey Road" is better than I remembered but as a whole a bit selfconcious, and I liked the American "Magical Mystery Tour" (with the '67 singles). But "Penny Lane" and "Strawberry Fields" should have been included on "Sgt.Peppers", that would have made it a good album.
But what to think of "Love", the remix soundtrack for horror of horrors a Cirque du Soleil show? It does show the genius of the Beatles and George Martin, but.....
Maybe this project would have had better results if it hadn't been for Cirque du Soleil show.
But I really like the early singles. "Help" is absolutely gorgeous, irrisitible, one of the best singles ever, by anyone.

"Magical Mystery Tour" is my favourite Beatles LP, even though it's not a "real" album and I wouldn't claim it's their best. I'm just a sucker for weirdly beautiful sounds and puzzling lyrics.

END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT ...R.E.M. :):):)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzqiPvGrkToThat's great, it starts with an earthquake, birds and snakes, an aeroplane -
Lenny Bruce is not afraid. Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn -
world serves its own needs, regardless of your own needs. Feed it up a knock,
speed, grunt no, strength no. Ladder structure clatter with fear of height,
down height. Wire in a fire, represent the seven games in a government for
hire and a combat site. Left her, wasn't coming in a hurry with the furies
breathing down your neck. Team by team reporters baffled, trump, tethered
crop. Look at that low plane! Fine then. Uh oh, overflow, population,
common group, but it'll do. Save yourself, serve yourself. World serves its
own needs, listen to your heart bleed. Tell me with the rapture and the
reverent in the right - right. You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright
light, feeling pretty psyched.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

Six o'clock - TV hour. Don't get caught in foreign tower. Slash and burn,
return, listen to yourself churn. Lock him in uniform and book burning,
blood letting. Every motive escalate. Automotive incinerate. Light a candle,
light a motive. Step down, step down. Watch a heel crush, crush. Uh oh,
this means no fear - cavalier. Renegade and steer clear! A tournament,
a tournament, a tournament of lies. Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives
and I decline.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

The other night I tripped a nice continental drift divide. Mount St. Edelite.
Leonard Bernstein. Leonid Breshnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs.
Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom! You symbiotic, patriotic,
slam, but neck, right? Right.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine...fine...

(It's time I had some time alone)
