Hate literature department; to the average Christian fundie fanatic, the "feet of clay" refers to last empire of the last days of Earth. (Daniel chapter 2, verses 31-49.) This last empire can be anything you hate, really; the latter-day Roman Catholic Church, the Common Market, Communism, the One World Government, etc. (Thanks to Carol for the research.) Generally, a person with "feet of clay" is one who is much admired but has a fatal weakness. As for the pigeon, BLAM!, just a pointless amplification.
You're right OKD, this is a silly exercise. "Easter" is just a rant, "Ballad" is a much better song.
