I nominate Sandie Shaw, the first pop singer not to have her hair stuck up with plastic goo.

She looks pretty exotic, like most british girls of the era, sort of Judy Dyble - like. I had to look her up on google images 'cause i had no clue of who she was and I was lucky enough to find a nudie pic of her! It's not that usual for british girls to be that naughty on the sixties!

I was too into the JA music, to pay that kind of attention to Grace.

I could NEVER listen / watch JA perform without watching the SHEER beauty of Grace:):):):)!!!!

I am a huge Mariska Veres fan, too. She was one of the GREATEST female voices in rock music… My life has changed after 2 December 2006 and I know it will never be the same anymore… It is still raining in my heart and in my life… She won't be forgotten… May She rest in peace…

Last night i thought of three more beautiful 60s chick singers, all three were more famous in the 70s but they definitely were out and about, performing solo and in bands in the 60s. Can you guess who they are?

One was from Lancashire and was voted best female vocalist in England in 1969 and 1970, she sang with a blues band.

Another one had a successful solo recording career in her homeland before joining a group and going on to massive fame and fortune and is now a German Princess.

The final one sang in a 60s Bay Area folk/acid rock band with her boyfriend, she is still singing and recording and touring frequently today.She is also just about the most beautiful woman that has ever set foot on the planet (next in line to Grace Slick of course!)

As Christine Perfect (her maiden name) she was a member of Chicken Shack, a popular mid sixties English blues band, they covered Etta James classic song "I'd rather go blind" and had a hit with it in the U.K. It is a lovely song and a wonderful showcase for Christines cool vocal and keyboards.
She went on to release a solo album before marrying John McVie of Fleetwood Mac. The album was re-released under the remarkable title of "The Legendary Christine Perfect Album".
I have always thought that Christine Perfect-McVie had one of the most remarkably underrated careers, A cool vocalist, great lyricist and there isnt an instrument that she cant play well.

Nope, it is Stevie Nicks, she sang with a Bay Area band called Fritz in the late 60s. They opened for Janis Joplin on occasion.

And the other one is Anni-frid Lyngstad who was in Abba, she had records and performed in the 60s before her stint with Abba in the 70s.
