Ooh, Papa John's albums are kick ass but definitely different from Airplane stuff. Have you heard 'Walking the Toutou'? The Airplane played it on Sep 22 1972 (Last Flight) but Papa John later recorded it in like... 1973, I think. Jack and Jorma play on the track and it's really good. Sort of like 'Wild Turkey', but more Long John Silver-era sounding, haha. Haven't been able to obtain a digital 'Papa John' (his solo debut) but I have 'Filthy' and 'Playing My Fiddle for You'. Both have lots of blues, funk and just really bizarre fiddle music.
