I noticed under the members part, when they mention Barbata on drums and tambourine, they write "against the grain stubble scraping". What's that??

Hmm... I would think its probably just a sarcastic joke. Maybe he was often unshaven so it was a little stab at that? I think on Crown, Jorma is credited as 'electric chicken.'

I vaguely remember the band also having other weird credits. I always thought the 'Yggdrasil Bass' thing was really cool. Sadly, most of my LPs are missing the liner notes.
