Although the Airplane did not play, it is no doubt one of the most interesting festivals to me. The film 'Message to Love' that was released a few years back was very disappointing, showing badly edited segments of the bands, but was still very interesting, mostly for the other issues concerning the festival.
Maybe some new CDs or something will be released.

Thanks for the info. I was just looking up some videos from the Isle of Wight. I have started listening a lot to the Moody Blues, and their performance on the Isle of Wight is great. There are some videos on YouTube. I believe there are some CDs and DVDs of the various groups you can find online.

Here in LA, at the Mod and Rocker Film Festival, they'll be showing Jimi Hendrix's and the Who's performances at the Isle of Wight on the big screen... I'm quite excited to go.

"Folk Devils and Moral Panics: The Creation of the Mods and Rockers" by Stanley Cohen is a great book on Britain's reaction to the "youth problem."

'Mockers' was a line of Ringo's in A Hard Day's Night. I don't know if that's where it's from originally, but that's where I know it from:

Reporter: Are you a mod, or a rocker?
Ringo: I'm a mocker.

And so on.

I just finished watching the Moody Blues at the Isle of Wight DVD. It was amazing. I was very impressed with the performance. The spirit of the group was very intense and they really enjoyed playing the music. That is what I love to see in a performance.
