Yeah that is a nice bass.Gibson?Or Vox, i get those confused sometimes.I got me 2 Fenders, a Jazz(mine) and a Precision(my fathers).I would upload a picture but our people are too backwards to figure out how to upload photos from our camera...

it's actually a dearmond starfire (just recently fully customized; based on jack casady's guild starfire). i've also got a Fender precision "special" bass. here's some pictures of them (and my organ)

I totally get how somene can be in love with an instrument. I have an acoustic Gibson from the fifties that is still in mint condition and sounds fantastic, and I'm totally obsessed with it.

Oh wow ...I dream of the day i can get a Starfire.Before i started bass i litteraly salivated at the thought of playing a Hammond Organ.Ive always wanted a Gibson though, bass and guitar.Almost had a Les Paul guitar..was $325...but my Dad made me start with an Ibanez, which was the same price .Then we had to pawn the Ibanez, and lost the pawn .Now, whatever form of money i can get i will somehow transform into $100 and buy me the cheapest guitar i can find, just so i can play again.Atleast i got me Fender Jazz bass though, they cant take that!

Well, a Fender Jazz bass is nothing to sneeze at, if I may say so myself. A Starfire would be totally amazing though.

I wish I could play an organ, especially a Hammond, but considering three years of piano got me nothing, I figure that bass and guitar are the ones for me.

I very badly want an Epiphone Riviera, so I'm saving up for one of those. Talk about salivation!

Then again if you don't end up getting a Gibson guitar, you could get a pedal steel guitar and be Jerry Garcia!! I'm hoping you get the Gibson though!

The Starfire basses sound great. That's a nice-looking one, mellowgerman. I play bass, but I have hesitated to get a Starfire because it has a shorter scale than the basses I am used to, and I don't adapt easily. I am very happy with the Epiphone Jack Casady bass; same basic design as the Starfire but with a longer scale length.

Yeah i would love to get one of his signature basses.I would get it in black.But, if i could spend around $1,000, i would get me a Rickenbacker 4001.Ive wanted one of those since i dont know how long.

Jack Casady, Geddy Lee and Greg Lake have played it, so thats good enough for me.I first wanted one when i knew this guy who had a '72, and i fell in love with it.Immediately i knew i had to get myself one .All the music and pawn shops around here got Ibanez or some other knock-off, so its special seeing an ACTUAL Fender or Gibson.And personally, a Rush concert is the closest ive ever gotten to a Rickenbacker in person.Its like a mystical holy grail, or Excalibur.And as for being Jerry Garcia...well wouldnt that be nice.All these things...so far out of reach...

I tend to concentrate on the bass in music, but don't play or know the technical aspects. But something about the sound of Geddy Lee's playing is very different than most others. Is it the guitar, effects, or does he exert more plucking force?
