I'm with RR, ER on this. What if that one person, or soul mate says no, then what - backgammon, Hara Kiri?

Then to the liquor commission!

But no, I know what that's like. They could seem as though they're completely perfect for you, and I feel I have found that person, but if they say no that doesn't mean they're imperfect, they're still wonderful, they just don't want to be with you. If you felt that in a perfect world everyone wanted to be with you, then you'd seem a bit self-absorbed. And plus, if you have a low opinion of yourself, then you have even more to agree with them on.

I you believe in Fate, and they say "No", then they can't be your "soul mate", can they? So there's no need to get drunk over it.

Well, I never used the term "soul mate". I'm also not sure if I believe in fate, it just goes along with the belief that mates are out there like fish in the sea, and there's a possibility that there may be someone who could be perfect in your mind. And you don't automatically stop grieving the minute they say no...

I look at fate as a 50-50 proposition. Half you, half what's going on around you. Hi Tiffany, You have the makings of somebody to love if you have all that airplane stuff in your room

Zap!I'm back,as our beloved Sue once said.

love is not only a relation primarily towards a particular person:it is a notion, an orientation of a personality which defines person's connection with the world as a total ,not with a single object of love only.

And another thing Fromm the same source
A child's love is driven by the principle: I love you because I am loved by you .A mature love again, follows the principle:I am loved because I love.
An immature love says:I love you because I need you.
A mature love says:I need you because I love you.

Oh,you are so lovable ,my lovelies.

Hello Tiffany, and welcome! Glad to know there's more Airplane heads out there.

I follow the principle that I need because I love. The person I love, is because she keeps me sane, gives me reason to wake up in the morning and we have oh-so-much in common, even though she doesn't love me. I'll do anything for her and love her with all my heart, thus I need her, or else I unravel. Why am I telling you people my love issues!?

People think love is an emotion. Love is good sense.

Dont take it literally, Blue.Don't you see the affirmation of paradox in it? He thought of love as a good sense because love is a emotion which makes the crucial dimension to our lives .

Hey,Sue! >waving< There is always need for me to get drunk over something although I haven't touched the spirit for years now.

Hi Tiff.

(Wavey wave, OKD. Sorry, I'm still a bit too bent to say anything sensible.)

One thing is clear to me. No matter how much you love somebody or how strong it is, there will be times when you have doubts about it. You won't feel it, or think it easily. The tide is out. It always comes back, so you have to ride it out, maybe by loving someone, or something else, in the meantime. Or maybe that means you're supposed to go to work now!

People do smell funny, but you get used to it when they're always around.
