But no, I know what that's like. They could seem as though they're completely perfect for you, and I feel I have found that person, but if they say no that doesn't mean they're imperfect, they're still wonderful, they just don't want to be with you. If you felt that in a perfect world everyone wanted to be with you, then you'd seem a bit self-absorbed. And plus, if you have a low opinion of yourself, then you have even more to agree with them on.

Well, I never used the term "soul mate". I'm also not sure if I believe in fate, it just goes along with the belief that mates are out there like fish in the sea, and there's a possibility that there may be someone who could be perfect in your mind. And you don't automatically stop grieving the minute they say no...

Hello Tiffany, and welcome! Glad to know there's more Airplane heads out there.

I follow the principle that I need because I love. The person I love, is because she keeps me sane, gives me reason to wake up in the morning and we have oh-so-much in common, even though she doesn't love me. I'll do anything for her and love her with all my heart, thus I need her, or else I unravel. Why am I telling you people my love issues!?

One thing is clear to me. No matter how much you love somebody or how strong it is, there will be times when you have doubts about it. You won't feel it, or think it easily. The tide is out. It always comes back, so you have to ride it out, maybe by loving someone, or something else, in the meantime. Or maybe that means you're supposed to go to work now!
