Jefferson Starship played a great concert (including many Jefferson Airplane songs) in Santa Barbara on 4/30/10, along with guests Country Joe McDonald and Quicksilver Messenger Service. Here is a link to my review:

Nice setlist, although it seems Paul has a different female singer with him each time I read a review on them. Why isn't Frieberg playing a bass - is anyone?
It's good times now - I can see the light!

David Freiberg played some acoustic guitar, but no bass. The bass parts were covered by Chris Smith on keyboards.

Regarding the female singer(s) - I thought Cathy Richardson was great at this concert, even better than at the Heroes of Woodstock concert in LA last year.

I saw them play here in the UK towards the end of last year on the Heroes Of Woodstock tour with Quicksilver and Tom Constanten in support. They opened with Ride The Tiger, and from then on, apart from playing a couple of Grateful Dead songs, (with Tom on keyboards), the rest of the set consisted of Airplane stuff as far as I can remember. Cathy Richardson is a really good singer, and Paul seemed particularly happy because they were off to Amsterdam the next day, and he was judging in the Cannabis Cup competition. Nice to know he's still upholding all of those old Airplane traditions.
