My Dad hated pop music, so I got to hear a lot of Beethoven, Bach, and Mozart. That was quite educational. But when he wasn't around, we'd tune to Radio Caroline. Later he caved in and bought me my own radio, and eventually Beatles records were allowed in the house.

I loved the way the music went shwooshy in Itchycoo Park, even though I couldn't make out the words on my tinny little set.
