For those of us who were not even born before 1959 we have our own day when the music died...

December 8th, 1980, a day that will live in infamy. It also works for American Pie if you substitute Lennon for Lenin and Mark's for Marx.

Of course the kids born after 1980 might say stuff like Curt Cobain's death or the endless number of rappers who have been gunned down etc..

I suppose the Day the Music dies will continue to repeat itself.
