Hi All - at dinner someone suggested I write a blog to share some of these stories rattling around in my head. So here I go!
Memories From An Airplane (Nov 15, 2007)
The year was 1968 & Jefferson Airplane & The Doors were
co-headlining in Amsterdam at "The Concert House. "
The bands were doing two shows that night: Jefferson
Airplane would open the first show and the Doors would
close. We would change the house and then The Doors
would open the second set & then the Airplane would
close. Someone had given Jim Morrison a ball of Hash
the size of a softball so he swallowed the entire ball.
The Airplane was playing a song called "Plastic Fantastic
Lover", an upbeat song. Morrison jumped onto the stage
and started dancing. Jorma increased the beat of the song
and Morrison danced faster and faster. After the song was over
Jim went backstage and he was taken to a hospital where he
had his stomach pumped. The 3 remaining doors played the
two sets.
