We left New York on Aug 21 1968 and flew to Brussels.
We stayed a very fancy hotel called the "Metropol." We stayed
the night and the next day flew to Stockholm. The hotel had
the toilets down the hall from our rooms. We had brought Marty's
father with us. When I was checking us out Joe came over and said that he couldn't figure out how to use the restroom. It came to me that he had
gone potty in the bidet. We got to the airport and got on SAS and
Jorma was listening to music on his head set. The stewardess
asked him to turn it off. Jorma refused. The pilot, a big bald man,
came out and ordered Jorma to turn off the music or he have to
throw him off the plane. The people in the seats are all going "Yes!"
I jumped up and ordered Jorma to turn off the music. I then went
and told the pilot that we were a rock & roll band and had not gotten
much sleep in the last few days. We were allowed to travel to
Stockholm. The band all had long hair down to their backs and
probably freaked out the Europeans in 1968.
