wait a second!! a lot of people actually called charles manson 'charlie'.
i heard that somewhere....
something on VH1, i dunno. im not sure how reliable VH1 actually is but a lot of people called him charlie on some show i saw a couple nights ago.

I've only just realised, on Hendrix's version of Day Tripper on the Radio One album. Hendrix says 'oh! Owsley can you hear my now?' I always thought it was a question to the sound engineer. Now it's clear, I just never made the connection. :roll:

Manson was a LA character, he had nothing to do with the SF scene. I believe Charlie refers to Charles Perry who was Owsleys roomate at the time of the Airplanes Flight over SF.
