All The Songs

Postby Indian Summer on Tue Sep 05, 2006 5:13 am

I was wondering how to get all of the songs in the JA catalogue.
There are some boxsets around that has some great 'rare' material on it.
But it could be great to have some of a list with the songs and then a link to the certain album(s) where it's on...

For example

Song: Album:
It's No Secret - Takes Off - Bless It's Pointed Head

Maybe we can work this out... :)

you nuts? JA made thousands of songs how can we list them all :)

check this link:
http://jeffersonairplane.com/studio.html

you can get all the tracklists but you'll have to match the songs yourself.

Thanks for the link Zeke..

The reason I want to make some sort of a list is the fact that there are European Re-issue's with a lot of Bonus Material.
A lot of it hasn't been released until today and there are a lot new versions of older songs.
So it would be great to work on something as a worked out list that members can use to find a song for instance.

There are 6 US (BMG Heritage) remasters I know:

1966 - Takes Off - 2003 Remaster
1967 - After Bathing At Baxter's - 2003 Remaster
1967 - Surrealistic Pillow - 2003 Remaster
1968 - Crown of Creation - 2003 Remaster
1969 - Bless Its Pointed Little Head - 2004 Remaster
1969 - Volunteers - 2004 Remaster

Never heard of European remasters though.

Ehhh....I have to check this....Ehhmm

Well, however, the editions oversea are the same it seems.
That does not change the fact that it's great to make a songlist with links to the albums it's on.
The remastered versions with bonusmaterial could be 'the' reason to make that list.

I will work on it....information about issues are welcome!

The other 2 remastered albums currently not mentioned on BMG Music web site:

You're welcome psychhead

Here is even better web site to get a list of all albums where a song appeared:

http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=am ... qag4jttv4z

clicking on album you get to its track list:

http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=am ... qpg44ttvoz

then click on a song and get list of corresponding albums. For example, "It's No Secret" appeared on ~30 albums:

http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=am ... 2ibks9ka4v

Alternatively you can do a search for name of the song/album.
And indeed, there were European remasters issued by BMG International in France and UK.
