From Grace Slick's biography

I am probably not the first who noticed this but just couldn't pass by. Here is quotation from Grace Slick's biography on her web site:


As anyone could conclude from the highlighted, Grace Slick and other members of Great Society formed the Jefferson Airplane shortly after 65. Is it fairly well to allege it, considering the fact that JA has well documented history and absolutely terrifc debute album of 66 with Signe Toly Anderson as a vocalist with super power strong and driving voice? In the end, rhetorical question, who are these people on the next pictures and where is Grace Slick? (don't get me wrong - I love Grace Slick but hate lies)

The woman is Signe Toly Anderson, and Spencer Dryden...

Some people like the voice of Signe ,some like the voice
of Grace. Maybe some people do have a problem with my
personal statement ; it is Grace & Jefferson Airplane...

In Europe and many many other countrys over the world
it is White Rabbits & Somebody to love from
The Jefferson Airplane, other songs (maybe better ones)
are not on hitlists of these "music-expert-radio-stations".
That's bad....

As for voices, although it was not my main point, to me Anderson's voice is by far superior and professional, but Slick made very special psychedelic contribution to JA that is impossible to overvalue.

I did read it again...

I don't think that Grace ever did say that she
did formed JA, the writer of that text is not Grace.
For what i know about Grace & JA ,
Jack Casady did ask Grace to join them,
in her book Somebody to love there is
much info about that kind of things.

Chasin'Destiny, it was taken from http://www.areaarts.com/flash.html Grace Slick -> Biography. I was apparently wrong referring to the site as a Grace Slick's web site, but she is the main artist presented there (the other is Janis Joplin). Biography page shows her autograph, other pages deliver Grace voice speaking original commentaries to her artwork. The site is selling her pictures and I think she is aware of its content.

You're right that does look wrong. But I think you need to bear in mind that Celebs don't sit around writing their own publicity. They get men and women in grey suits who only have an eye for results. As my dad used to say 'don't put down to malice what can be blamed on ignorance' and that was when we discussed my conception.

To sum up. On August 21 I e-mailed to Mr. Scott Hann, President of Area Arts, owner of the site, explaining that the site contains clear error that undermines authority of real founders of Jefferson Airplane - Marty Balin and others. Since then passed 2 weeks and he vouchsafed me no answer. The information remain unchanged and misleading. Therefore I'm pretty sure this was intended. Considering this site isn't amateur and about business I want to make Marty Balin aware of injustice. Please let me know how to contact him, e.g. e-mail. Or, better, his manager's contacts, if he has one.
