There is sooooo much about her and her art
out there on the internet.....
http://app.www.home.nl/zoeken/websites? ... t&safe=off

I realy hope that she get's some $
for her art, because it's great.
Other "artists" do just some lines
on the canvas and paint the squares
between 'm (mondriaan)....
And that costs $$$$$$ !!!....

I started an Art thread a while back without guessing it would end up focusing on the Art of Grace Slick (duh! :) )
And didn't have the heart to say before (and start CD off) but.............
In my opinion Graces art is not good. She could hold her own in art school, but there seems to me to be no real flair, instinct or imagination in anything she has done. Just mediocre technique. Janis work on the other hand is natural and brilliant. Just my opinion. Look out bad dogs are coming

8) Being more of a music freak than an art freak, I'd naturally give Grace 10+ points out of ten for her vocals
I wonder if China paints too?!

I love both of them as artists, but I also like Janis's art a bit better.

I am a proud owner of "The Red Queen" by Grace, I get it when my mom dies.
They are extremely uncomfortable with the idea that I am a teenage girl in the body of a 60 year old career criminal who has already died 16 times...

I know it's a copy, silly. She did sign it though, so that's gotta get me somewhere.

Sorry, my post was not complete.
That link is a copy from the internet,
you should make a copy of it on a printer.
Than swap it with your mom's copy.....
If you'r lucky no one would see it...

i really do like janis's art better. grace's is cool and all but i dunno.... it doesnt really feel like theres much emotion behind it.

Honestly, I can't distinguish her "Janis Joplin" on 9-11 from Yoko Ono :D And so on.

Give a look at Margareta Kaukonen's paintings:

Quite depressing to my taste but at least original and surrealistic.

100% Agree !...

It is all about the word UNIQUE...

Every painter is unique...
Has it's own vision of the world...
And the people on it...
If i would have the money,
there are some of them..

On topic:
Grace's art is very special and recognizable for us.
I mean...we all know Jerry and Jimi, and she paints the most beautiful paintings about that period and that artists.

Off topic; a rhyme dedicated to me...based on the sentence written by Chasin'Destiny

"If I 'would have' the money"

If had the money, angels would fly for free,
Kids could play on the streets,
Older people climb a tree...
I never asked for anything,
Even when I'm here..
Members can pass me a joint,
Or try to make me dissapear.
Please destiny, hit me when I'm drunk
I'll never tell you members,
What I'm hiding in my trunk..
My dream is a meeting, one between you and me..
Will it ever happen?
Just believe in that event and angels will fly for free
