Ed Sullivan show with JA and the Supremes

I vaguely remember an old Ed sullivan show with the Jefferson Airplane and Diana Ross and the Supremes.

Does anyone else remember that show? Any idea if Diana and Grace met?

Two HUGE icons together who had no idea they would still be relevant 40 years later.

Did the JA more than one Ed Sullivan show ?

Does any of this confirm the story I heard about a JA performance (as far as I know, of White Rabbit) on either the Smothers Bros. or a similar show being taken offair during transmission as unsuitable for primetime viewing - that all copies of the performance were either lost or destroyed AND that this inadvertently led to airtime guarantees for the JA for much of the rest of the sixties, as well as the sacking of an uptight CBS director.

Shades of Orson Welles' War Of The Worlds broadcast about it all -
Doubtless there is lost footage from 4 decades ago but did the 'live censorship' incident actually take place?

Imagine this, its in the 60s
There is something about black & white people....
Black Panthers against White Power....
The bad part of that time !....

There was soooo much make-up, any color of a rainbow !
And there was also that color black !......
Grace did something....with a black face goin' on stage !
