Origins of "Crown of Creation"?

Does anyone have background information on the lyrics for this song? Other than the fact that it's a great song, I couldn't help but notice a few allusions to Aldous Huxley's Brave New World. If you've read the book, you might be able to find some connections too. Did this book influence "Crown of Creation"?

When i take a look at th picture
in front of the CD......

That image of an exploded atom bomb.....
THAT is the real crown of what we created.....

A small little bomb.....can destroy.....

Not sure if you intentionally posted this as the start of a rant or argument.
But I will give the benefit of doubt and assume not.

The lyrics are said to be based on a science fiction book (The Chrysalids) written by the late British author John Wyndham. (The American title is The Rebirth.)

Why is a book the 'roots' or 'source' ?
Not every writer of songs have read 98875764 books....

When was the 1st exploding of that atom bomb ?....
How old was he /she when he /she saw it 1st ?....
How old was he /she who wrote that song ?......
Was he /she under influence of drug /alc. ?....

I can imagine that sombody who have seen pictures of
an exploding bomb could think of the things that could happen to
the place where he /she lives.......

Do a search with Google : atombomb
There is a dutch site......

Normal explosives are toys compared to the atombomb....

That "Chrysalids" book is indeed the inspiration for the song, written by Paul Kantner. He took snippets from the book for the title and much of the lyrics - with slight changes to the words ("you" instead of "they"). He read alot of science fiction when he was young, at some religious camp - and retained the influence from the book from that time (according to an interview with him).
The term "Crown of Creation" originally comes from scripture - the creation of mankind, as God's crowning achievement, on the 6th day.
Maybe if he had spent a little more time...

Then Mankind was Mother Nature's mistake...
