A lot of you have it wrong with the whole "Get Together" thing. Dino Valente wrote the song, Valente then got busted, to pay for legal fees he sold it to Chet Powers. Jesse Colin Young has no rights to the writing or the ownership of the song, he only sings it all the time. Valente sold the song to Powers not Young, there is no way Jesse Colin Young would have had the money that Valente needed for legal fees in 1966. But he did not write the song for Quicksilver Messenger Service, he had written earlier to the formation of the band, he was a resident folkie on the San Fran scene before breifly being in Quicksilver Messenger Service.
