Rockin' at the Red Dog was disappointing if you were expecting alot of concert footage, etc. But the history of psychedelic rock it touches on is interesting. If you're into the history of rock n' roll from this era, check out "Dirt Road to Psychedelia" about the Austin, Texas scene that brought us Janis Joplin and the cult faves 13th Floor Elevators, among some others. Also pretty cool IMHO. None are as good as "Fly Jefferson Airplane", though.

I've seen "Dirt Road", and it's interesting. One of the reasons San Francisco got an influx of musicians and cartoonists from Texas was the police crackdown on the Austin scene. The cops had got the idea that there was a dangerous craze for psychedelics drugs and loud rock music in Austin that might spread if they didn't get tough, not realising that the same thing was happening all over America at that time.
