I swim. I concentrate on my breathing and the co-ordination of my movements. Almost mindlessly I count the strokes and the laps. Perfect meditation. The utterly senseless activity of fishing is a western form of meditation too.

Here's what I do. Sit up, or lay down, it doesn't matter, but your spine has to be straight. Close your eyes, or look at a blank surface. Concentrate on breath coming in and out of your body, preferably taking note of your chest rising and falling. Let go of any thoughts as they come up. The aim is to have your mind at rest and empty of thought for a while, but if it doesn't work, don't worry. At least you'll have relaxed.

This has nothing to do with what Jefferson Airplane looked like. Maybe we should start a new topic?

What Susan described is exactly what I've started doing recently.It really helps.

What plasticfantastic said though, is exactly what they would have liked us to have talked about, and its not exactly about what the band looks like, rather what the image represents.

And I finally found that silly picture of them in the white suits and such!

Wooden Ships is better than House at Pooneils Corner.Its just more powerful and meaningful, House is just experimental, its cool and creepy, but not as good.

I prefer Wooden Ships to House on Pooneil Corner as well. Although just as songs, I love them equally, I just love the music and the fabulous vocals on Wooden Ships.

Marty, Grace, and Paul all singing their parts, which are all three so distinctive and beautiful is just too much to pass up. Aside from White Rabbit and Somebody to Love, that was my first Airplane song.
