Fillmore New Years Eve show, '66-'67

Postby angfonz on Sun Oct 26, 2008 3:06 pm

Does anyone have any idea the best place to find photos of this concert?

My father is coming up on his 60th birthday, and often times refers to this as 'the best concert in history.' Jefferson Airplane and Quicksilver Messenger Service on the stage with the Dead at midnight, singing Midnight Hour, is one of his favorite moments from his youth.

Id like to find some photos from this concert, but having put a LOT of hours into internet detective work, Ive come up empty handed.

Think you can provide any insight?

Thanks,
Elliott.

Nice pictures, CD, but none of them have anything to do with that concert!

(To compound your sabotage of this topic, which one on the "Egyptian" poster is meant to be Paul?)

I really have no idea how to decipher the post above, so I'm just going to pretend it didnt happen.

I shot emails to the two photographers linked in the first reply, and hopefully they can point me in the right direction - But any other help would be greatly appreciated!

PS - Susan Butcher as in the Iditarod racer?

Also, CD, editing your posts to remove things that people have already replied to is kind of a forum faux pas.

Well, well, well.
I see you have met CD. Gives you a nice fuzzy feeling inside doesn't it?

Welcome angfonz.

I can't think of anything I would like better than a collage of photos of Jefferson Airplane! I hope this forum has provided you some help. I have this photo from a while back. It is a concert poster, which served as my desktop background on my computer for a while. I love this picture. With luck it is something you or your father may find interesting.

I know CD, but I thought something would be better than nothing. It is a nice poster regardless. Sorry to angfonz that I couldn't be of more help.

Just curious, I will probably be sorry for asking, but why does roman need to know about this topic?

Hey CD, where did you find that poster? I have been looking for a JA poster for a while, but haven't come across any that weren't concert posters or handbills from the '60s.
