I used to have all the JA albums. Remember the brown paper bag in the "Bark" album? It contained a poem telling you what you could do with the bag. Clever idea.

My dad used to have all the Airplane albums on vinyl but alot of them were too beat up to play. A couple I thought played well enough to hang on to; Volunteers (with the newspaper insert), Blows Against the Empire (with the booklet,) Long John Silver and 30 Seconds Over Winterland.

Other than that I have The Worst of Jefferson Airplane (70's reissue, I could have gotten an original but I actually prefered the brighter print of the cover on the reissue and the gatefold not making it to the reissue, nothing special was in the gatefold, just a painting of the RCA dog.) I also have the Bark (missing the paper bag slip that goes over the cover,) Flight Log 2 lp with the booklet. If I could find a vinyl pressing of 2400 Fulton St. I would probably get rid of the Worst of album.

Someday I might also upgrade the copy I have of Long John Silver to one that still has the stashbox cover. I'd also love to own a mono copy of After Bathing at Baxter's. I never understood why that wasn't included in the Ignition boxed set currently avaliable on I-tunes.

I don't have any albums on vinyl, but I wish I did. I have some mp3's and CDs, but vinyl is the best in my opinion. It's just so much cooler, you know? :D

I've got a lot of really crap vinyl from my parents(lot's of John Travolta and the like), and quite a bit of good vinyl as well(the Beatles, Heart, Styx, the Who), but unfortunately, no Airplane. I have most of the albums on CD, but it's just not the same. For some reason, all the little crackles and bumps in vinyl make me extremely happy.

I got Jefferson Starship's "Spitfire" last week. I scanned beautiful pictures of Grace with a mustache and one of her by some plants.

I love vinyl. It's so much cooler. :)

i really would like to listen all these vinyls .. i also bought endless wire on vinyl , but still haven't listened to it yet .

Does anyone have a picture of the Volunteers newspaper insert?

Well, the LP looks like a newspaper on the outside, and the gatefold is a jam sandwich sitting on a page of supermarket ads, but TakeMeOnYourFlight mentioned a "newpaper insert" so I guess there must have been more to it originally, perhaps in the form of a folded newspaper or booklet. Over to you, TMOYF.
