I agree, today's rock has lost its beat, i dont like to call it rock, at best I would call it trying to break guitar strings in the most painful way possible

OH, that's right! WHY THE HELL DOESN'T GRACE HAVE HER OWN SITE!? I don't care if it's not music-based! She's still doing stuff I want to know about!

Lather

I was told theat "lather" was a nickname for one of the drummers that played in JA and given the time frame, "don't trust anyone over 30" was a common saying. The Revolution was for and from the young. So the song, as I was told, was about this drummer (I forget which one) turning thirty and not knowing what to do about it. Stay a hippie drummer or "grow up" and do what society deems as right.

The drummer in question was Spencer Dryden.

That is not a stupid question...

It is a valid question which deserves a straight response.

Yes Spencer was the drummer turning 30 years old.

Yes "Don't trust anyone over 30" was the mantra of the times...

Yes, Grace Slick was the best and most sexiest vocalist of all time.

So yeah...
