I agree with Chasin'Desyiny that the Woodstock Director's Cut is better than Diaries.
However, I advise you to buy both, because of the fact that there are alot of different recordings.
Having the Directors Cut is not enough :)

I can't remember that White Rabbit and Somebody To Love can be seen on the director's cut.
At least not the whole versions of Woodstock Diaries.

I did the next experiment  ...
Just look at the videoclips
without sound, if you look at the
videoclips you will see some people
with a camera walking around.

Now i know there are different
versions of the videoclips,
i have 2 versions of them !...

The ones from Woodstock movie
and Woodstock diaries...they look
a bit the same...But the ones on
Clips & trips are different !!!
And picture quality is crap....

But if you can get them
get 'm....it's a must have....

Hello,
Question to JA on Woodstocks Directors Cut - Film:

Yesterday they shows that stuff on German+French TV ARTE.
But from JA the first song after Grace announced "morning maniac music" I think was "Volunteers"? This song was interrupted after 30 Sek. in the middle of the intro, even just befor the lyrics began.
After that comes the song "Saturday/Won´t you try". And after a brake with pictures of the folks, they played "Uncle Sams Blues".

But no white Rabbit, no Somebody to Love.
Did they cut this of?
Are there two versions of the "Directors Cut"?
On my recently bought DVD it is the same.

Those Woodstock DVD's are addictive.
I watched them for 200 times and never got sick of it.

May I recommend some other great DVDs?

Sorry, but once again my question, because I am not sure of it:

Which song did JA played first at Woodstock?
Was it after all "Other Side of this live" ?

I listen again to my DVD (Directors Cut), I am not sure...they began with this song, but then the film is cutted. It is a nice beginning, with some cool drum shuffels (while Spencer is still smoking his cigarette 8) .
Which song was it, and on witch CD does this song sounds like there in Woodstock??
Does anyone knows?

No,
but they began with another song, some drum shuffles, the piano, then the bass and then comes a cut...and after this cut comes Saturday afternoon, that´s right. But the song befor the cut, which one was this ?

yes,
Grace said her morning maniac music words, Paul raises his hand in ther air and Spencer begin with a short shuffle, than another short shuffle (while smoking and wipping his cigarette), than a piano in the back then guitar and bass...then the cut...and only after the cut "Saturday".

I think the beginning could be a beginning of "Other Side".
I also found in www a setlist of the woodstock-bands, where "other side" is named as the first title they played.

It is a very cool beginning of "other side", even better than I know from my other 3 live-cds, because the of drummer, an I would like to hear this version complete, but where ?

Rudi is right, there is a fragment of another song being played before ' Saturday'.
This is something that cwe could investigate because I don't have a clue which song it is.

It could be an intro of:

'Go To Her'
'Somebody To Love'
'3/5 of a Mile in 10 Seconds'
'In Time'

or

'Other Side' indeed

@Indian Summer
Yes, you got it.
It´s cool, isn´t it?
By now I think it is the beginnig of "other side".
In most woodstock set-lists I have found, "other side" is the first
song, with which they opened at woodstock.
And the pictures on the DVD seems to have not cut, until the break when "Saturday" begins.

but Chasin:
between the word-intro of Grace (morning-maniac-music...its a new dawn a.s.o.) and the beginning of "Saturday", there is definitively a piece (perhaps 20 or 30 seconds) of another song, and I think this song was the opening and it is "Other side"
