"Grace story" and Deeper Space/Extra Virgin Sky

I was snoggily (hehehehe!!) browsing something new in 2007 and came up with this song called "Grace story" apparently on an album called "Deeper Space/Extra Virgin Sky" by Jefferson Starship....

...I heard a sample of this "song" and you can here Grace talking to the public, but it's so short that you can't hear the singing bit! Any good soul here know more?!

when Grace Slick take the mike and sings on cd2...

...The singing and playing are
faultless and when Grace Slick guests on vocals
it brings together four members of the classic
Jefferson Airplane lineup...

they only know these "stars" from
MTV & TMF........shit.....

You can buy at cduniverse.com (the link is in my post above). I think I'll order it! i know what you mean with record shop peeps.....here in Italy they only know J-Lo, Spears, Ramazotti and othet HIGHLY WHIMPY stuff!! :roll:

Hey Psych,

I have this album, I'm not sure what it is you're exactly wanting to know, but the story itself relates to the incident back in the early nineties where Grace was arrested for pointing a gun at a police officer.

Here's a transcript of the track:

"About a year ago some, um..police officers came up to my house in Northern California to visit, without a search warrant and they were roughing up a...fellow I was living with, and they said in the police report..they thought he was carrying a gun. (Kantner: Woo...)

He was carrying a beer can and we all know how much a beer can looks like a gun. <sarcastic>

No..he was not carrying a gun...

But I was. <laugh>

Thats' not..I mean..I'm not saying that's cool or anything..aha...but this next song is a song I wrote before these police officers were born..."

sings "LAWMAN"

Grace describes the story in more detail in her book. Ironically the police appear to have come to the house in order to protect her from the person she was living with who had apparently called the police himself and claimed that Grace was crazy. His behaviour on the phone had actually led the police to believe that she was in danger from this person. However, Grace being Grace, when confronted with authority figures, carrying guns and in her home refused to put down the shotgun. One of the officers performed a "football block" on her, knocking her down and ending the standoff.

Grace spent the night in the drunk tank and was given a probationary sentence for the incident.

Hi skywise! Thanx for clearing that up! I didn't connect that incident to Grace's explanation in the book....from listening to the sample of "Graces's Story" straight off the album on cduniverse.com, I thought it was a song in itself. Thanx to CD as well! That album is missing in my JA/JS collection, so I think I'll get it!

About the incident; I don't know what the truth is.
However, I do know :wink:

about drinking alot...(speaking at this moment) hahahahaha.

Well, it reminds me of the fact how much music of JA is missing in my collection.
I'm just having a JA marathon and listened to 3 albums in a row.
