If you want to show videofiles on the internet there
is no need for MPEG2 (MPG2) or MPEG1 (MPG1).
The best way to do that is by converting all videoclips
to MPEG4 (MPG4) format it's about dvix.

A MPEG2 (MPG2) file of 40Mb can be compressed
to about 20Mb without losing much quality.
Maybe 10Mb if you accept some quality lost.
Is like MP3 files for music (audio),
more compresion= smaller files= less quality.

But for what i know, there are 2 ways.
1st Watching the videoclip(s) only after
downloading the file(s)...
2nd Only streaming video, NO download.

And the best of all, costs much more $$$.
if you want to have a copyright thing in the video files,

This is a lot of work with a video-editor-program.
On the expensive side AVID for a videostudio,
and broadcast quality video. But it can be free
with Virtualdub, is a timeconsuming thing.
You have to learn to use that program.
So, it's up to you how important a copyrightmark is.

The video files that i have, from my own DVDs, are just for
try-before-you-buy. NOT to produce copys on the fly for some
criminal actions. Just for friends...
