Grace helped dedicate a new headquarters and plane for Virgin Atlantic today in San Francisco.. the Jefferson Airplane. I have to wonder if it'll have a cool retro design on it? Link to story and new Grace pic below.

An afterthought: I think it would have been frosting on the cake if the other surviving members of JA were able to attend the ceremony as well...
Of course, while I'm on a wishing roll, if it had some wider advance publicity and a weekend date, more local JA fans would've been there to sa-lute as well....

In other news, for Autumn 2006 among other classic and different tracks, I refreshed my freeform internet radio station playlist to include the original Great Society version of "Somebody To Love", a cut that seems to never get played on mainstream radio in favor of JA's more famous version...Enjoy at the link below:

Ehmmm, well I see your point.
Let me ask you another question.
How can a hippie release 'We Build This City'?

Many hippies are sucked into the jetset and aren't in an environment that critize what they do.
However, I don't see it as something bad, I mean cars are much worser and I'm more positive about trains and airplanes.
If people want to travel, the should be travelling together.
And that's the whole thing about this forum too, isn't it ?

Let's make something clear, I don't think Grace Slick lost her idealistic ideas about how society should be.
It's just strange to see her talking and smiling with some right wing politicians.
Gavin Newsom (major SF) was the only democrat around and he did good things for San Francisco so far.

On the other side, I'm surrounded by right wing thinking people too and I still talk to them.

My thoughts about this, Why did Grace do that ?

I don't see something bad about it.
Airplanes are flying with or without us.
Producing some "bad air" ?
I think a airplane of today doesn't make much crap,
some old cars make much more noise and smoke.
Because that plaine must run smooth and cheap,
and your car must run and run and run and run....
(smoke and much noise and stinky air etc. etc.)

I wasn't suggesting Grace was wrong or bad. After all it's up to her what she does she owes the present nothing based on the past.
I Just don't personally see it as something to excite.
A just a small pedantic point, air travel produces more CO2 per km travelled for each passenger, than car travel. And more importantly air travel is rising faster than any other poluting sector and is often unnecessary.
