I think it's pretty well understood that Jefferson Airplane is one of the best (if not the best) American psychedelic bands. But which is better of the two well-known British psych albums- The Beatle's "Sgt. Pepper" or Pink Floyd's "The Piper"?
I personally believe that Pink Floyd's album is much better then the Beatles' album. Sure, "Sgt. Pepper" has a couple really far-out songs, like "Within You, Without You," but EVERY song on "The Piper" is psychedelic, if not in terms of the music, then by the awesomely trippy lyrics. Some of the Beatles' songs seem to be trippy just for the sake of being trippy, but Syd Barrett seemed to have put purpose into every song.
That's my opinion, and I know there are other British albums worth mentioning, but these two seem to be the most popular; I still would recommend both of them. I figured I would try this poll here on "neutral ground."
So, now let's hear YOUR opinion!
