It was originally a Saturday Night Live act. The movie is hilarious ('yeah, but mine go to 11') and not so hard to find on DVD (with extra footage). It was re-released last year or so.

I'm happy that they are imaginary.they make good music but they have silly lyrics.I couldn't find it in the videostore in my town.but I've read the screenplay.it's good.they have made a movie out of funny things that popular rock groups have lived.

Saw both "Almost Famous" and "Spinal Tap" but liked Spinal Tap more. Very entertaining movie, worth to check out.
It was on tv here, but i'm sure most video-rent stores have it.

I thought Spinal Tap was brilliant in it's humorous insight! I still treasure
my vinyl copy of the soundtrack album :) A very well done parody.

Friggin killer movie, i think they just came out with the 20th anniversy dvd early last year. I remember seeing this in like 1985 at the drive in. Alice Cooper has said some of the crap thats in the movie has actually happened to him, with the stage effects that dont work and such. Its a classic, as great as " Roadie " or " Decline of western Civilation Part 2 : The metal Years" .
