Alan freed is probably one of the best if not the best ever. Casey Cassum has the voice but I dont think he ever used it to its full potential. God Bless Wolfman jack...RIP

Disregarding that "advertisement" . . .
Around Chicago, there was a DJ on a now-defunct station, Oldies 104.3, named Dick Biondi (sp?). He had a real "classic" radio voice, and he'd been in the radio business for decades.
Unfortunately, the corporate owners of that station changed the station to have more demographically popular content (i.e. today's music- see thread about today's music  ). That was one of the last radio stations I would listen to, because it would play awesome pop music from the 50s and 60s.
Now it's gone, but I always loved that man's voice.

8) Yeah I know what you mean by corporate radio!! I know of a DJ in NY called Rodney who saw his time slot taken away for $$$ reasons. Judging from what many bands like the Bangles say about him, he helped make them what they are today by airing their music when no-one else cared!!!!
