Ravi Shankar did not perform at the 1969 Woodstock festival.

I got some Ravi Shankar CD's from one of my friends (I think one is called "Bridges"). Really cool stuff- its fun listening to how a different culture approaches music.
I'm gonna check out that website, and those other sitar players too. Thanks for the list!

i just thought of a couple more

- shahid parvez - another of the new generation of sitarists.

- imrat khan - vilayat khan's brother. a wonderful musician, who often plays surbahar (rather like a bass sitar). tours the states frequently

D'OH!!!

Sorry...

What I meant to say is that RAVI SHANKAR did not appear in the WOODSTOCK film or on either of the soundtrack LPs...

Yeah... That's what I meant to say...

shankar did not appear in the movie or the woodstock soundtrack albums but his rather lack-lustre performance at woodstock was in fact released on an album"Ravi Shankar at Woodstock" (or something similar)

i do not recommend it. check some of the other much better sitarists.
