I think to a certain extent also, the personal stuff that went on and the creativity in terms of the music, are separate...in terms of how she (and anyone else) remembers stuff and feels about it. A bit.
To say she doesn't care about the MUSIC is not to say she doesn't care about her LIFE back then...although obviously they were entwined together...
But I mean that she's still making music now in her own way...and she never STOPPED really. I think in that most recent interview, or another recent one maybe, she said she had hundreds of songs she'd written, and before that, she said she was always singing around the house and in the car and stuff...
But she's also said she always does something creative...whether it's singing, music, painting, drawing, etc. She said if she couldn't sing anymore, she'd paint, if she couldn't do that anymore she'd act, if not that, interior design. Anything creative.
So...like many things creative, once you've finished a particular creation, you move on. You have to in order to create NEW things that inspire you.
I wrote songs a few years ago, some of which are still not finished (grr!) but others I just have no interest in them anymore, and that's not to say I don't CARE about them or that I dislike them or something. They're just...DONE. You know? It's all good.
