I would highly recommend the book to you, I read it and loved it and have read it since then too. It is one of the best stories ever, I am pretty sure once you pick it up you wont be able to put it down. It has some more to do with just doing acid though, you'll have to read it and experience it for yourself. The whole story is a real mind fucker. I like listening to music while I read so the second time I read it I lisened to something that would go along with what has happening. In the book it mentions them listening to a lot of the early Beatles and Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan in the Redwoods and you can listen to early Grateful Dead too during the parts that talk about the acid test, kind of enhances the mood of the book more. I highly recommend it to you, if you have read Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (actually read the book not just seen the movie) and liked that story there is no way you wont like The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test.
If you were a cloud and you sailed up there,
You sail on water as blue as air;
You'd see me here in the fields and say,
"Doesn't the sky look green today?"
