Celebrating Charles Darwin's 200th birthday.

One of the greatest thinkers of all time. Others contributed to our knowledge of the living world, but it was Darwin who put it all together with his theory of evolution. The way we view ourselves in the world would be radically different without Darwin's thoughts and insights.

When I was seven my Mum bought me "The Wonders of Life On Earth", about the voyage of the "Beagle", with these fantastic fold-out paintings of strange animals. Still one of my favourite books.

You would't believe but there are significant majority of priests here, ready to start a global crusade against everything that oppose christian dogma.A few years ago, with support of some right wing members of parliament ,they tried to outcast Darwin's theory of human evolution from elementary schools .The pulic opinion rose strongly against them and they went back to
their convents disparaged and pissed off.
