When Grace Slick Joined The Band

This site says October '66 was when Grace joined the band. But I heard Jefferson Airplane perform, with Grace, at Whiskey A Go Go in Hlly wood in August or September of 1965. It was their first performance away from home (San Francisco). Grace said as much in her opening comments.

So what about Whiskey A Go Go in the summer of '65. I was there, and so was Grace and the rest of the band.

I think it's time for some pedantry. I've consulted Lillian Roxon, and Signe is on the three JA singles released between March and September 1966, and also, very obviously, on "Takes Off", released in August 1966. So how could Grace, who replaced Signe, possibly have been a member of the band in August 1965?

Hmm. I'm confused now too.

I always thought it was 1966...and everyone here knows how much I love Grace, but she COULD be wrong about specific dates and times. She admits herself she can't remember that stuff all the time. Nothing wrong with that, eh?
