JA - Photo Thread

Anything goes here folks... just keep it somewhat clean ;)

Postby VoodooChile in Wonderland on Sun Nov 21, 2004 10:20 am

Since the "Happy Birthday Timothy Leary" thread is now buried in the second page here is that image of Grace and Paul with Saint Timothy.

Image

That thread was not popular, I hope the reason was NOT that some of you thought Timothy is a regular of this board      this happened in other board

This is the great society

Cool picture, never saw a pic of the great society before.

Here’s another pic of Grace and Janis (they must have had multiple photo shoots together).

I meant the pattern on Grace's clothes, but since you mentioned it I decide to check The Paisleys out, and that experience was very pleasant. In a couple songs I was reminded very much of The Beatles, in the songs "Wind" and "Smokey Windows" I think and especially in the vocals. I have to say their music is quite enjoyable and the have a great name :). Did they only come out with one album? Or are they just hard to come by? Thanks for mentioning them.

As far as i'm aware, Cosmic Mind At Play is their only album. It was recently re-released on Sundazed:
http://www.sundazed.com/artists/paisleys.html
But i have to admit to having downloaded it and having not bought it yet. I promise to The Paisleys (if you are still alive) that i will buy it very soon. I also have to admit that i don't know a great deal about them, maybe if i bought the album and read the liner notes that would help.
Wait, just did a google search and came up with this: http://worldlyremains.com/paisley.htm
Originally released in 1970 though i think i read before that it was 1971. Still, hope that's useful and i'm glad that you like them. It's great (as you said in the "We Can Be Together" thread) that people so far apart can connect over the internet thanks to music. Still, it's a shame that internet doesn't permit more personal friendships.

Yeah this picture :). It being in black and white makes me feel like there are a bunch of psychedelic colors I'm missing out on. Couldn't find out much about the band, it's seems like they were pretty short lived. Found this, but it doesn't say much.

and to stay on somewhat on topic...
