Joni Mitchell just came out with her latest album, Shine which is amazing. really, Joni Mitchell is one of my favorite artists. Even though her music sounds sad at times...well most of the time, its hard not to like her style. I was told about this while I was at work (fontana) and I started looking for her myspace, but it doesn't look like she has one. I found some samples of her new stuff on amazon. Hope you like it.

cool. i didn't know she'd put out another one...
i don't know a lot of joni mitchell stuff beyond you know ,the basic 'big yellow taxi' 'both sides now' type stuff that everyone knows... but i will check it out.

The first album SONG TO A SEAGULL produced by David Crosby is STILL my FAAAAVORITE!!!

I love the bit in Grace's book about how she's intimidated by Joni cause she's so delicate but also strong and stuff...heheheh.

Did anyone see the Dick Cavett show (when Grace kept calling him Jim? LOL. And the second time, Dick responded by saying something like, "You have got to learn my name, Ms Joplin!" Heheh) with Grace and JA and Joni and David and Stephen on it? All sitting around Dick in a circle? And when Joni was done singing, Grace would clap really enthusiastically and stand and stuff? She's so nice.

I LOVE GRACE! Some people think she's hard or cold or mean, but she is SO NICE!!!!! :D

i know Both Sides Now is one of my all-time favorite songs, but i'm so excited to check out her new album! i accidentaly made a mistake though, it comes out Sept.25, i just got excited from listening to all of the sample songs that i though it was already out! i hope you like it thou :)))

What about LED ZEP!?!?!?!

I do think Robert Plant had a BIG CRUSH on Joni!!!

(What "straight" male guy does not???)

He wrote "Going To California" from the ZOSO LP about her...

If you listen to the live version from the LED ZEP "HOW THE WEST WAS WON" 3-CD, you can hear him sing this song, and even cry out in an aching, love-sick wail:

"Oh Joni... OH JONI!!!"

i always thought she was a bit funny looking but then again... i'm not a straight male so who cares about my opinion on her looks anyway?

Ladies of the Canyon is one of my favorite albums. My copy is so ragged and hammered on its sickining to look at. I got to get another copy soon

Joni was a pretty sexy lady in her day. Someone else here probably has For the Roses on vinyl like me. The inner gatefold has a picture of Joni featuing what George Costanza would call back-al nudity.

An interesting Joni story is that John Lennon was one of the inspirations for Court and Spark. He sent Joni a letter saying that if she had a bit more production in her music, she could probably have really big hit albums and music. He said that was the reason other people kept having hits with her material, they put more pop friendly production in.

Frank Zappa was an admirer too. Joni joined the Mothers on stage once and Zappa said in an interview although he can't get into her music too much cause it's so love song based and he hates love songs, he admired her dedication.

Joni Mitchell has ALWAYS done just what SHE wanted, she has NEVER sucked, NEVER "sold out" and has always been true to her muse...

Read some recent interviews with the lady-- She still has a heck of a LOT to say and does NOT mince her words!
