Janis Joplin's Cape ..from the Pearl cover on display in SF

I was bored one day so I ate lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe in San Francisco. Heres something I found and decided to share. This cape is draped over the loveseat Janis Joplin is sitting on for the cover of the Pearl album , the gold record was to commerate Janis's single from the Pearl album " Me and Bobby McGee " going to #1 on the pop charts. Pearl itself as a album also reached the top spot on the billboard album sales for 1971 when it was actually released to the public. Naturally since Janis was long dead by some 3 months prior, I believe this was presented to janis's mother and father ( Seth and Dorothy Joplin )

The guitar is signed by the whole Big Brother and the Holding Company band. It was used while recording the Cheap Thrills album.

Thanks for the kind words Chasin destiny. I always keep ditigal cameras with me at all times, 2 in the car, one always with me, and of course the one on my mobil phone. You never know when youll see something worth shooting. From car breakins to robberies to , once in a lifetime sightings of living legends. I always carry a camera with me. These shots were taken using a Hewlett-Packard M627 Photosmart camera. Its small enough to keep in my pocket discreetly and takes great pictures.

Wow...I thought this would never be retrieved since it had gotten stolen backstage at one of Janis' concerts. Its beautiful spread out like that. Now I see where the Dragon came from, that Franklin Mint is claiming she had a pendant she wore... Maybe it was just from her cape. There used to be a photo Franklin used to show Janis wore the Dragon Necklace, but now their not using it anymore...funny.

This may be a stupid question, but in the shot with Janis on her car, is the coat she wearing a fur coat? I would be surprised if it is real fur.
